MiniStays Service Fees
March 9, 2024
MiniStays does not charge a service fee to hosts or guests. The only cost associated with a booking is the payment processing fee required to securely handle the transaction.
Host Fees
MiniStays charges hosts no service fee. Listing your property and receiving bookings is completely free, and your payout equals exactly the amount you list.
Guest Fees
MiniStays charges guests no service fee. Guests pay only the payment processing fee, which covers the cost of securely handling the transaction and varies by payment method. This fee applies to the monthly rate and any additional fees charged by the Host, such as cleaning and pet fees.
The processing fee can be seen during checkout before you book.
VAT Charges
Value-Added Tax (VAT), or Goods and Services Tax (GST), is a consumption tax assessed on most supplies of goods or services. In some jurisdictions, VAT/GST may be known by another name such as Japanese Consumption Tax (JCT) in Japan or Québec Sales Tax (QST) in Québec, Canada.
As a result, we may be required to charge VAT on certain fees received for services supplied to guests. For instance, some jurisdictions, including Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and the European Union, may be subject to VAT as Electronically Supplied Services (ESS). VAT laws relating to ESS are rapidly changing, and it is anticipated that additional jurisdictions may implement ESS VAT laws.
Guest VAT
Applicable VAT is calculated based on the service fee total. If applicable, VAT is charged at the time of booking according to the billing information provided to us. If the booking is changed, VAT adjusts to reflect any change in the service fee amount.
Depending on the laws of the jurisdiction involved, VAT may also be applicable to the above fees.
We reserve the right to change our service fees at any time, and any changes will be made in accordance with our Terms of Service.
